HAIR LOSS THERAPY

Alopecia (hair loss), thinning or baldness is caused by a number of factors, ranging from genetics, stress, hormonal imbalance and autoimmune conditions to name a few. Physical stress can also cause hair loss due to the physical pulling of the hair or increased weight from hair extensions and weaves.

There are a few hair loss treatments available where we can help:

PRP

This has been utilised for a number of years and has shown to stimulate hair growth and aid the repair process of the skin.

PRP uses your own blood. A small amount is removed from you, which is placed into a centrifuge machine to isolate the enriched cells or platelets. This serum is then injected back onto the treatment areas of the scalp using a micro-needle where it does its work to promote hair growth.

This treatment works on the active hair follicles in your scalp to promote thicker and fuller looking hair, and so treatment should ideally be started when you notice any thinning. It is, therefore, a preventative treatment and not suitable for baldness, where active hair follicles are absent. It is possible to use PRP in combination with hair transplant or restoration surgery.

A few courses of treatment will be required every 4-6 weeks, with the whole duration of treatment lasting between 3-8 months. Results can be seen from 4-6 months, where hair feel and thickness develops.

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy for hair loss is used with great success for men and women in Europe and the US. It can be suitable for hair thinning, hair loss and male pattern baldness. Chances of results with mesotherapy are much higher then oral medication in hair rejuvenation and restoration.

Mesotherapy is a non-invasive technique based on superficial micro-injections, just below the epidermis, into the target tissues. The micro needle provides mechanical stimulation to promote a healing process to produce collagen and elastin; the two key building blocks of skin.

Most forms of hair loss are caused by hormone imbalances in and around the hair follicle, a lack of the right nutrients and reduced blood circulation. The solution injected can contain a wide range of minerals, vitamins, amino acids, nucleic acids and co-enzymes that is tailored to each patient’s individual needs.

Mesotherapy brings just the right materials to the exact place where it is needed (around the hair follicle) so that the hair follicle can grow and survive. Furthermore, the excess of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) is neutralised and the blood circulation is stimulated, which results in a stimulation of natural hair growth.

A Minimum of 10 sessions may be required to stimulate hair growth. This will entail intensive course of treatments every 1-2 weeks for the first 2-3 months, when results are genrally evident. Treatment then gradually decreases in accordance to response.

It is effective by itself, or in combination with PRP. The procedure is safe and painless where no dressing or local anaesthesia is required, and you can go straight back to work post treatment.
